Worker crafted "false and misleading story" to cover up serious misconduct

The Fair Work Commission has chastised a long-serving employee for creating a "false and misleading story" to explain his workplace actions, finding his dismissal for serious misconduct was "wholly justified".

Deputy President Gerard Boyce said the employee's evidence was "nonsensical" and that his waste of FWC time and resources should be "strongly deprecated".

The Woolworths Group employee worked at a Big W store from June 2008 until he was sacked in October last year, for causing loss to the business and failing to take accountability or show remorse for his conduct...
