Why engagement with wellbeing initiatives is down, and what to do about it

Many wellbeing initiatives failed to hit their mark last year, and a wellness expert suggests a mindset shift is needed before organisations can move forward again.

Some 90% of Australian workers reported feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about the future late last year, in the most recent poll by employee wellbeing specialist Select Wellness.

This is up significantly from June, when 60% of the 1,000 respondents reported their stress level as "overwhelming", "severe", and "extreme".

Select Wellness co-founder Martine Beaumont says that although most organisations "try to do the best thing" to help employees, mitigating potential psychological harm during a period of skill shortages and economic uncertainty has been "quite hard"...
