Employers have increasingly relied on technology to create virtual and remote workplaces in the past two years, and research suggests the metaverse might be the "next big thing".

The metaverse is "on our doorstep", with employers and employees alike predicting that the technology will be the new normal by 2025, says Citrix ANZ managing director Martin Creighan.

According to Citrix's latest Work Rebalanced report, 74% of business leaders and 61% of workers believe the metaverse is set to "revolutionise" workplaces.
