Stop-bullying claim rejected amid 'cyclone of workplace drama'

An employee's stop-bullying claim has revealed a workplace in which gossip contributed to a "cyclone of drama" and fostered dysfunctional relationships, but she was part of the problem, a commission has found.

In seeking stop-bullying orders, the cleaner at Queensland's Virginia State School told the State Industrial Relations Commission that she wanted "justice" and that her colleague needed "a lesson".

She claimed that in June 2021, the colleague yelled and swore at her for leaving a jacket on the ground while she was cleaning, later telling her to "get out of here, you don't have f-cking business here"...
