A recent dispute over a non-disparagement clause in a settlement deed shows "it's really important to get language right" when drafting these agreements, a lawyer says.
"Particularly with clauses like non-disparagement clauses, which are common and standard and oftentimes just find their way into a settlement, agreement, or a deed, no one pays too much attention to them," says Kingston Reid special counsel Brad Popple.
