People experience shift creating "huge pressure" on HR to deliver

The people experience movement recognises and elevates the importance of the HR function, but it also creates "huge pressure" to deliver, an employer branding specialist says.

Recent years have seen a "massive shift" in what candidates and employees are looking for, says Lightbox Communications CEO Mike Beeley.

"No employer is going to find anyone if they want them to turn up to an office five days a week and pay them minimum wage. You might as well not even run the ad," he says by way of example. And employees increasingly expect their work to give them a sense of purpose. "You need to understand what that person wants, and attend to the small things."

This links to the shift towards "people experience" that not only views employees as an organisation's most valuable asset, but recognises that "every experience they have, every touchpoint they have with the organisation", should be positive, and build a positive relationship...
