Neurodivergent employees carrying "emotional weight" of workplace clashes

Employees with ADHD and autism shouldn’t have to "carry the emotional weight" of difficulties in the workplace, but they do need to educate their colleagues to help prevent them, a specialist says.

Many leaders are now keen to optimise the unique skills of neurodivergent people, and are aware of the need for inclusivity, however they often don't understand the practicalities of how neurodivergence presents in the workplace, says Emma Read, managing organisational psychologist at leadership coaching organisation Peoplemax.
