HR manager fined $7.6k for "deliberate" FW Act breaches

The Federal Circuit Court has criticised an HR manager's decision to sack an employee rather than deal with the "dilemma" of her bullying allegations, and fined him $7.6k.

In May last year, the Court found the Della Rosa Fresh Foods HR manager sacked the production worker at the "first opportunity", after she raised bullying and harassment allegations.

The employee had left work upset in May 2020, following a meeting in which her supervisor was allegedly aggressive towards her and said: "if you don't pack the pizza I will kick you like a ball".

When the HR manager called to check on her, the employee gave the phone to her husband, who said she was "never coming back"...
