Five traits shift culture beyond "annoying" to toxic

There are more than 50 symptoms of poor organisational cultures, but five in particular take a workplace from "annoying" to "downright toxic".

With this in mind, it is important to understand that having a toxic culture is 10 times more indicative of attrition than compensation, says CultureX co-founder Dr Donald Sull.

However, defining and identifying a toxic workplace culture is not simple.

"If you go online and just read the first 10 blog posts that say, 'do you have a toxic culture?' and write down what they say that the symptoms of a toxic culture are, what you very quickly do is get 50 or 60 different non-overlapping symptoms," he says on Brené Brown's Dare to Lead podcast...
