ERGs bring DEI back to the average employee

Giving employee resource groups "real freedom" helps to drive better DEI outcomes while providing a "wonderful opportunity for growth at an individual level", an HR leader says.

Pharmaceutical company Viatris Australia has been running a pilot, establishing two DEI employee resource groups (ERGs), its head of HR for Australia & New Zealand, Adam Bullock, tells HR Daily.

The 'Vivid' and 'Empower' ERGs focus, respectively, on LGBTQ+ visibility and women in leadership.

Bullock notes that it can be difficult for local employees to feel any tangible impact from the company's global ERGs; therefore, these groups "work within the global framework but are a locally established team with local objectives in the DEI space", he explains...
