Employee "overtaken by rage" wins reinstatement, again

An employee who won reinstatement six years ago after being sacked for misconduct has again been given his job back, with a commission finding his most recent dismissal was a disproportionate response to his "stupid" out-of-hours behaviour.

In February last year, the NSW Police Force imaging technician was forced to walk 4.3km to get to work, after his train was cancelled due to an industrial dispute.

During his walk he passed a group of rail workers "having a laugh" at a café and, feeling annoyed at the inconvenience he'd experienced, he said something along the lines of, "get back to work you bludgers"...
