"Drastic measures" after s-xual harassment complaint weren't reasonable

It wasn't reasonable to transfer an employee accused of s-xual harassment and ban him from speaking to female staff alone, a commission has found in a psychological injury appeal.

NSW Police began investigating the senior constable's alleged conduct after receiving a written complaint from a female general administration officer in August 2020.

It told the employee about the complaint, transferred him to another station and placed him on an interim risk management plan, which prohibited him from speaking to subordinate female staff unless supervised, among other things.

In March 2021, the employer informed the employee that some of the allegations against him had been proven, and it gave him a warning, placed him on a conduct management plan and transferred him to a different station...
