Discipline upheld for employee who 'lurked and watched'

An employee who would "appear out of nowhere" and watch other staff, sometimes in the dark, has failed to prove his behaviour didn't warrant a 12-month remuneration reduction.

The employee worked in Queensland's Department of Environment and Science as a senior technical officer in the aquatic threatened species unit.

In March this year the employer informed him an investigation had substantiated allegations he had "continuously watched" Mon Repos Turtle Centre staff and volunteers while on a nearby beach, which made them uncomfortable, and had "continuously criticised" workers over whom he had no supervisory responsibility...
