Court rejects workplace stress "aggravated" underlying psych condition

The Federal Court has dismissed an appeal by an employee who claimed workplace bullying and harassment aggravated his underlying psychological condition.

The NBN Co employee was appealing an earlier ruling that found his adjustment disorder was an "ailment" predominately caused by personal stressors, and not significantly contributed to by his employment.

In early 2020, the employee had sought workers' compensation for depression, claiming his managers had bullied him over a five-year period...
