There remains an obvious disconnect between employers recognising the warning signs of burnout and implementing effective interventions, a specialist in the field says.
While COVID has fostered better workplace conversations and "mutual understanding" of the stressors associated with burnout, little has been mirrored in workplace practice, The Burnout Project founder Dr Amy Imms tells HR Daily.
This apparent stand-still in addressing burnout was a major topic of conversation in panels at a recent symposium, she says.
"A lot of these things have really been some of the same core issues for 50 years... which is part of the frustrating thing about it, a lot of this is not new stuff," she says...
