Employers are focusing more on workforce upskilling to tackle ongoing recruitment difficulties, and new research is urging HR professionals to look at speed to competency as part of their induction and onboarding processes.
The proportion of employers reporting recruitment difficulties has increased to 40% in the June quarter, up from 38% in the March quarter, according to AHRI's latest Australian work outlook report.
The survey of more than 600 senior HR professionals and decision-makers also found four in five organisations took steps to address these difficulties over the past year, with the most common response being upskilling existing employees (30%)...
