Three human barriers holding back workplace transformations

Humans are the biggest barrier to successful automation and digital transformation, with reactions of caution; a desire to cling to old habits; or an overall resistance to technological change, research shows.

Although technological developments are dominating the current digital era and making tedious processes more efficient for humans, a veil of hesitancy is leaving businesses worried "they'll be left behind in a hyper-digital world", according to Dell Technology's Breakthrough report, released today.

The research, involving more than 10,000 people across 40 countries, has found that in Australia, more than two-thirds (73%) of respondents believe their organisations underestimate how to engage their people properly when it comes to planning transformation programs.
