Reforms underway to curb problematic paid agents

Paid agents seeking to represent workers in the Fair Work Commission will have to disclose their cost estimates upfront, and won't be able to receive settlements directly, among other key reforms announced today.

The Paid Agent Working Group's report and recommendations are now public, following a review process that confirmed "many stakeholders had observed challenging paid agent conduct", including misleading or deceptive practices.

The working group recommends that the Commission implement five options outlined in its earlier consultation paper.
