Younger workers lack resilience, but treating them as fragile isn't the solution

A new report showing younger employees lack resilience is urging employers to intervene, but warns that treating them as fragile is "insulting and demotivating".

The 2023 Global Resilience Report, produced by resilience training provider Springfox in conjunction with the Resilience Institute, is the result of measuring and mapping more than 8,000 employees (including more than 2,000 Australians) against 30 strengths and 30 risks to determine their "resilience ratio".

The results show that nearly one in five workers under 30 are "fragile" – described as "likely to break in adversity" – compared to just one in 10 workers over the age of 30...
