Time to refocus workplace-based DV and separation support

The pandemic has exacerbated the severity of family and domestic vi-lence situations, but two common myths are holding employers back from providing appropriate support, according to a lawyer.

A report conducted by the Australian Institute of Criminology found that the pandemic has worsened domestic violence situations for many women.

Some 47% of women who experienced coercive control before February 2020 said the abuse increased in severity, 39.3% said it had remained the same and 13.7% said it had decreased.
