Majority of workplaces perceived as lacking fairness: Gartner

The overwhelming majority of Australian employees perceive low levels of 'fairness' in their workplace, according to new research from Gartner.

Just 19% of employees believe they work in a high-fairness environment and have an employee experience that is characterised as fair (slightly above the global average of 18%).

Gartner defines a high-fairness environment as one where employees perceive that their manager and organisation treat them fairly, and its survey of 3,500 employees found that employees in these organisations perform at a level that is 26% higher than others, and they are 27% less likely to quit.
